ALDO Empowering Women through Knowledge and Opportunity

ALDO organized a comprehensive training workshop in Kajiado County, Kenya, aimed at strengthening gender
equality and enhancing the empowerment of women and youth. The workshop focused on promoting leadership,
participation, and collective community action to reclaim rights and ensure equitable representation in decision-
making processes at all levels of governance. Through participatory learning and dialogue, the initiative helped
equip participants with the knowledge, confidence, and advocacy skills needed to advance social justice and
inclusive governance.

In 2014, Biafra-Nairobi became a beacon of transformation as women from diverse backgrounds came together
for a groundbreaking empowerment training focused on entrepreneurship and financial management. This
initiative was more than a workshop—it was a catalyst for change.
Through hands-on sessions, mentorship, and collaborative learning, participants gained the tools to start and
sustain their own businesses, manage finances with confidence, and become active contributors to their
communities' economic growth. The training ignited a spirit of resilience and innovation, fostering a network of
empowered women who continue to inspire others.
This moment marked a turning point—where knowledge met opportunity, and women stepped forward not just
as beneficiaries, but as leaders, creators, and change makers.
